Space Safety Research Limited are looking into tools and techniques that address issues regarding orbital debris, such as debris removal and collision avoidance.

Their first step is to take advantage of a decrease in the cost of lasers and the exponential improvements of robotics and computers to reduce the threat of space debris to the space environment. Initially, they want to prove by experimentation that laser beams can physically move space debris into different orbits.

They are also initiating the International Space Safety Trade Association - an international organisation that will provide an integrated approach to dealing with the problem of space safety. They hope to work with companies and organisations working towards space debris removal, collision avoidance and mitigation, as well as satellite operators and insurance companies and other interested parties.

They are looking for funding to help with this goal. If you can help, or would like further information, please contact info@spacesafetyresearch.com
